What inspired you to become an electrician? And what do love about what you do?
I started an apprenticeship after high school to earn money while I figured out what I wanted to do. At 18 I had the opportunity to move out West and then it became a way to earn money for ski passes. I enjoy the variety of work that the trade provides and the skills that were transferrable to working overseas. Now I’m paralysed by the stress of being a business owner but love working with the Buck Electric team in the field whenever I can, and mentoring apprentices.
When you’re not working where can we find you?
Skiing, biking, golfing, on vacation with my family when my wife forces me to take time off.

What inspired you to become an electrician? And what do love about what you do?
At 18, I began my career as an electrical apprentice, but soon decided to take a leap and move to Alberta. Once I arrived, I quickly saw the growing demand for trades, and my previous experience became an asset when I joined the Electrical Industry here. One of my biggest motivators has been the opportunity for continuous learning. As I honed my skills in the trade, I eventually transitioned into project management, focusing on quotations, and working with computer systems. This sparked a new passion in me, allowing me to strike a balance between hands-on work, computer experience, and the social and communication aspects of my current role.
When you’re not working where can we find you?
Outside of work, I’m dedicated to my family, raising two kids, and staying actively involved in their after-school activities and the community. I enjoy socializing and spending time outdoors. Before having children, I was engaged in biking, hiking, and adventure, and now, while raising kids has become a central part of my life, I’ve found new ways to enjoy these same activities at a slower pace. Now I have the joy of watching and showing them some of the same adventures I was grateful for.

What inspired you to become an electrician? And what do love about what you do?
My father was a tradesman, and he always motivated us to try and be problem solvers. I started working on construction sites and soon realized that tradespeople are always coming up with new solutions for different installations and must think on their feet if something doesn’t go as planned. I really enjoy being a part of a team.
When you’re not working where can we find you?
Ski touring, biking, hiking, playing hockey or working on my cabin. Really happy doing anything outside.
