We are seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our team based in Canmore. As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential and commercial settings. You will work independently and with a team to ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, panels, circuit breakers, lighting, and electrical equipment.
    • Troubleshoot electrical problems and provide effective solutions.
    • Ensure all work is compliant with Alberta Electrical Code, safety standards, and regulations.
    • Perform inspections of electrical systems and equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
    • Collaborate with other team members, contractors, and clients.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of electrical work, including reports, service records, and safety inspections.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices.
    • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good working condition.
    • Adhere to safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

  • Job Requirements

    • Valid Journeyman Electrician certification recognized in Alberta.
    • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards in Alberta.
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
    • Own a set of hand tools and be able to operate electrical test equipment.

  • Preferred Skills

    • Experience with service and running small to mid size jobs and projects.
    • Familiarity with reading and interpreting drawings. Troubleshooting and problem solving.
    • Ability to work independently and manage apprentices.
